So it's been stressful times recently. My grandad died fairly suddenly, which has knocked the whole family for six. I've pretty much got closure on it, although he was in my dream last night, so there is clearly some residual grief going on.

Work has been a nightmare too. I mean they were great about time off when Grandad died, but the job itself is so stressful. British Gas are good to work for and they pay well, but there's no disguising the fact that I spend all day getting yelled at down the phone. I'm looking at other options at the moment, hoping to get funding for my masters, also applying for better jobs. Ironically work have just given me my permanent contract! I had to fight tooth and nail for it but at least I don't get £100 taken out of my pay every time I have a sick day. At least I now have job security, even if it's not being paid to write or speak Spanish.

On a happier, if equally frustrating note, my love life is waking after it's loooong hibernation. It's early days but I'm getting vibes that my crush feels the same way...

Meh, so I've been a bit down recently. Not really sure why. Every little thing seems to be getting to me. Sigh.

But at least things are generally looking up. I'm starting a new job at British Gas on monday which will pay real money and not just sandwiches. I'm not quite leaving subway yet as I'm switching from fortnightly to monthly pay, so I'll need some extra cash during the transition. Also I get a week off for chrimbo which is making me very happy right now :)

We *finally* have the internet, which means no more traipsing to McDs for the wifi. :D

Having housemate issues atm, one person not pulling their weight with house stuff. Not unusual I'm sure, but it's getting to me. It's coming to a point where I really just wanna settle down and have a home, not just a house for a year.

I've decided that not being at uni officially sucks, but its ok cos I've been accepted to do my masters net year, I just need to find the funding. But still, yay! My new swanky job also means I'll be able to save lots of money towards it, which'll be good as money is not my friend right now.

Yay, it's finally my day off. To be fair I had most of the weekend of for Manchester Pride, which was *fantastic*. But today is my day to recover :) So I'm in town in kro bar, using the wifi and treating myself to coffee and cake. Pretending that I do something more professional than work at subway and write fanfic in my spare time. Hehe.

Currently 2/3 of the way through Louis de Bernieres' Latin trilogy, which is fucking hilarious, especially if you know the first thing about Latin American politics and history. Which reminds me, Savage, one of my good friends from the football team, took great delight in telling me how geeky I am, as we had a full on conversation about our degrees. :D

Also, Kez is back from the states so I'm no longer quite so stressed about money, and even better I didn't sell my guitar in the end, which seemed inevitable. I will, however, haveto motivate myself to start playing again if it's to escape next time I'm strapped.

Got to see Ellie from home over the weekend, which was brill, great to catch up with her. Missed out on seeing Becca and meeting her little baby though cos I was at work. Hoping to travel down and see them soon.
